AFC Liverpool v Golcar United, 28th September 2019
After watching Sadio Mane miss a couple of gilt edged chances for the big Reds during the first half of their match against Sheffield United in the bar, it was onto the turnstile. I met Golcar's Secretary who seemed a very pleasant chap. As for the big Reds, we did win 1-0. Making his debut for the little Reds that day was Daniel Cockerline, a 6ft 4 inches Centre Forward who had previously been on the books of Sheffield United. As I walked round the ground, I stopped and chatted to our fellow volunteer George by the players tunnel, as I often did. George had just come back from a recent trip to Thailand. As I was chatting to him, the goalkeeper or one of our centre-halves played the ball to their number 9 (Michael Fish), who made no mistake in putting Golcar a goal to the good. On 21 minutes, we were back level. A corner was forced, which required me to go and retrieve the ball.
