Chadderton v AFC Liverpool, 15th August 2015
The FA Cup match at Chadderton will stay in my mind for a number of reasons. For a while it seemed we could be on course for our record win in our short history. As it was, I do believe the end result did produce our record high scoring game at that point in our history. I also met up with my Uncle Peter. I actually have two Uncle Peters. This Pete is my Dad's brother, who lives in nearby Bury, having moved away from Liverpool about forty years previously. Pete had been to a couple of previous AFC matches in the past, when we have played not far from Bury. Unfortunately, those two matches resulted in AFC defeats, including one previous AFC visit to Andrew Street. Pete was not too sure if he would stay and watch the full 90 minutes. With the Little Reds 6-0 up at half time, it was enough to persuade Pete to stay on and see how many we could get.
